As the Devils are just one point off first place in the Metropolitan Division, Taylor Hall has noticed something different: they don't play against backup goalies much these days.
Last season the Devils had the league's fourth-worst record, leading to teams not always taking them seriously. But this year, the Devils have earned respect around the league.
"We don't see backup goalies anymore," said Hall, via Andrew Gross of The Record. "We get every team's full lineup and full attention. A playoff race with important games in January, February, I really haven't had that a whole lot. Now, it's about bringing our game to the next level."
Hall, who has 32 points (11g, 21a) in 32 games this season, hopes to make the postseason for the first time in his career.
