Status quo for these two means two slightly different things. Both players have been skating on their own, but Zubrus is trying to build up conditioning while also building strength in his surgically repaired wrist. Ponikarovsky, on the other hand, is simply skating despite having a lower-body injury, which may mean he's trying to stay fresh or could mean he and the team are afraid of pushing a muslce injury by rushing him back. Among the four players currently on IR, (Kovalchuk, Tallinder, Zubrus and Ponikarovsky), Tallinder is the closest to returning, followed by Ponikarovsky, Zubrus and then Kovalchuk. Tallinder is ready to be activated now and I'd guess he could be in time for Friday's game. My guess is that Zubrus and Kovy will return right around the same time with Ponikarovsky possibly playing Monday.
