Langenbrunner spent eight and a half seasons with the Devils, winning a Stanley Cup with New Jersey and another with the Dallas Stars.
He scored 243 goals, with 420 assists, over his 16-year career.
The former captain has finally decided to hang up his skates after a long NHL career.
He can be given some credit for helping to nurture young players like Travis Zajac and Zach Parise.
His finest NHL season came as a Devil, when he finished with 69 points (29g, 40a) during the 2008-2009 season. He also finished plus-25 that season as well.
"Langs" also served as the captain of the 2010 US Olympic team that won a silver medal in Vancouver.
Though the end of his Devils career may put a damper on his time spent in New Jersey, Langenbrunner was a leader, a producer and a champion in New Jersey.
