6:52 p.m.: The Devils announced they placed defenseman John Moore on injured reserve with a concussion.
Moore will be released from the hospital after taking a big hit during the Devils' loss on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
Playing the puck behind his own net, Moore was hit by Capitals forward Tom Wilson 3:10 into the first period. Moore, who hit his head on the glass, was taken off the ice on a stretcher and borught to a nearby hospital.
"The first chance I had, I went at him," Luke Gazdic said of the hit, according to Chris Ryan of NJ.com. "I didn't like the hit. I didn't think it was necessary and I thought it was part of my job to take care of it."
Moore has 13 points in 37 games this season.
