According to Dawn Mitchell of FOX 9 in Minnesota, Wild owner Craig Leipold said that both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter absolutely had offers for more money from other teams.

Remember, in June, former Wild GM Lou Nanne said that the Wild will offer the most money to free agent Zach Parise.

Nanne said in June,

I don't see how Parise’s not coming here.
Adam K: We may never find out who offered the most money to Zach, but it looks like it wasn't the Wild. Parise wanted to play home and his wish was granted. One thing I may assure you is that if Ryan Suter was not on the market, or signed earlier, Parise would be back with the Devils.

Taylor Hall scored a goal, set up a go-ahead tally by Kyle Palmieri and delivered a crushing check that knocked Vancouver defenseman Philip Larsen out of the game to lift the New Jersey Devils over the Canucks 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Defenseman Ben Lovejoy also scored and Cory Schneider made 22 saves as New Jersey remained the NHL's only team not to lose at home in regulation.

This is the first time the Devils have gone 10 home games without losing in regulation - they began 8-0-1 in 1987-88. This was also their first win in regulation in the last 11 games.

The Vancouver Canucks had a rough start to the season. After winning their first four games, they lost nine straight and were shut out four times in the process.

But as the Canucks prepare to take on the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night, there's much more hope than there was a month ago.

The Canucks are 7-4-1 in their past 12 games as the embark on a five-game trip that could push them closer to a playoff spot in the West. They are four points out of a wild-card spot, partly because of the weakened conference, but that doesn't matter to the players, who are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks are once again starting to re-establish their footing within the cozy home confines of the United Center. The New Jersey Devils, on the other hand, are struggling to establish theirs on the road.

The Devils have dropped five straight games away from home after Tuesday night's 3-2 loss to the Jets in Winnipeg. It's a streak they hope to snap on Thursday night when they face the Blackhawks in Chicago's second straight home game following two weeks on the road.

New Jersey (10-7-5) couldn't bounce back from a two-goal deficit against the Jets, which added to the Devils' traveling woes. Despite Miles Wood scoring his first NHL goal and fellow rookie Nick Lappin adding another, New Jersey came up short and dropped to 3-7-3 on the road this season.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- The Winnipeg Jets are preparing to welcome a nearly point-per-game player to their line-up and it's not going to cost them a single draft pick.

Ordinarily, the addition of somebody of Bryan Little's ilk would require a nearly-blockbuster trade, but instead the Jets will merely activate him from injured reserve.

Little, 29, played all of four shifts this season before going down with a lower-body injury during the season-opener against the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 13. He had been the team's No. 1 center since the Jets moved north from Atlanta in 2011, but a fractured vertebrae in his back late last season, which caused Little to miss another 25 games, enabled Mark Scheifele to move into that spot.

As well as Matt Murray is playing, and as uncharacteristically poorly as Marc-Andre Fleury is playing, Sullivan might have no choice but to soon give a majority of the starts to Murray.

For the second time in five days, Fleury was worked over Friday in a blowout loss. He gave up an opening-minute goal to Charlie Coyle of Minnesota -- one of Coyle's two goals in the first period -- and the Wild went on to the second dominant win over the Penguins in as many games this season, a 6-2 decision that, at times, didn't look to be that close.

"Usually that doesn't faze us," Fleury said of giving up a quick, early goal. "We're a good enough team to come back."

The New Jersey Devils are limping home to the Prudential Center after a 1-3-0 Western Conference road trip.

New Jersey (9-6-3) hosts the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday riding a three-game losing streak and will be without leading scorer Taylor Hall (knee surgery) and forwards Kyle Palmieri (upper body) and Michael Cammalleri (personal).

The Devils could certainly use some firepower, especially on a moribund power-play that is 0-for-29 in their last nine games. New Jersey is 26th in the NHL with 2.22 goals per game and the power play ranks 28th at 11.9 percent.

The New Jersey Devils have shown the ability to respond from some not-so-solid performances and that mindset could go a long way in helping the team navigate through the season.

The Carolina Hurricanes haven't been quite so in tune with dodging rough patches during the first few weeks of the season.

But Tuesday night at New Jersey, the Hurricanes aim to get on track because they've gone four games without winning in regulation.
