PHILADELPHIA, PA. and NEWARK, NJ JANUARY 6, 2014 Scott O’Neil, the Chief Executive Officer of the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center, announced a number of transactions that continue to shape the senior leadership team. Since his appointment in July, O’Neil has strengthened the management teams in both New Jersey and Philadelphia. In Philadelphia, he appointed Chris Heck as Sixers Chief Revenue Officer – joining a seasoned, veteran team that includes Sixers Executive Vice President, Business Operations Lara Price and Sixers Chief Financial Officer Andy Speiser – while in New Jersey, he named Hugh Weber President of Devils Arena Entertainment.
O’Neil continues to bolster the senior executive staff for the Sixers, Devils and Prudential Center during a time of continued growth on the business side. Andy Goldstein (Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President), Brad Shron (Executive Vice President and General Counsel) and Jim Leonard (Senior Vice President of Community Investment) have been added to the staff and will be based in Newark, assuming duties primarily for the Devils and Prudential Center, and as necessary, the Sixers, while Philadelphia has named Tim McDermott the Sixers Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer. All will report directly to O’Neil.

Goldstein arrives with over 20 years of strategic finance and CFO experience. His private equity and media background has allowed him to work with some of the most recognizable brands in sports and media, including the Sporting News, Sesame Street, Sportsman Channel, Golf Magazine and many more. For the past 10 years, Goldstein was the EVP, CFO for InterMedia Outdoors Holdings, Inc. (IMO), a portfolio of TV, digital and print media properties geared toward outdoor enthusiasts, where his responsibilities included managing finance, information technology, legal and human resources departments.
Shron was most recently an associate with Proskauer Rose LLP. During his time there, he played a role in some of the sports group's most significant transactions, including team acquisitions, stadium fundings, and naming rights and sponsorship deals (including MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, and the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ). Shron also provided general representation for the National Basketball Association, the NBA Development League, the National Hockey League, and Major League Soccer, as well as the New Jersey Devils, Orlando Magic, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Washington Nationals, and the America's Cup sailing team Oracle Team USA.
Leonard arrives after serving as the State of New Jersey Department of the Treasury Chief of Staff, where he provided high-level oversight responsibility for Department of Treasury operations, while also leading the eleven division directors in the performance of their duties. Leonard served as a critical link between the Governor’s Office, The State Treasurer, Treasury Senior Leadership and Division Directors, in order to coordinate activities and objectives seamlessly. Prior to that, Leonard was the Senior Policy Advisor within the Office of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for two years.
McDermott will lead all aspects of the Sixers marketing and communications initiatives, which also includes business development, media negotiations and partnerships, CRM, brand development, advertising, merchandise, digital and social media content, community relations, game entertainment and broadcast production across all platforms. He was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President with the Philadelphia Eagles during which time the team was named the "Global Sport Team of the Year" by Beyond Sport. Prior to joining the Eagles, he was Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President for the Washington Capitals, during which time the team sold out all 41 home games for the first time in franchise history. Before working with the Capitals, McDermott was Senior Director of Marketing for the Eagles, which at the time was recognized by Forbes as the “Fastest Growing Brand in Sports.”
