Recap: The Rangers beat the Devils for the fifth consecutive time and clinched their fourth 50-win season and second in four years.

Need to know: Devils goalie Cory Schneider was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots in the first 12:24 as Rick Nash, Keith Yandle and Dominic Moore scored for the Rangers.

Henrik Lundqvist (35 saves) earned his his third consecutive victory since returning from a neck injury. Tuomo Ruutu scored the Devils' goal with 3:30 to go.

The Rangers beat the Devils by five for the first time since 1996 and the first time at the Garden since 1993. . .The Rangers had not won five in a row against the Devils since a seven-game win streak during the 2007-08 season.

Keith Kinkaid had 23 saves on 26 shots after replacing Schneider.

Rangers center Derrick Stepan scored shorthanded with 2.7 seconds left in the second. He had just two goals in 21 games before Saturday's score. He had five goals and two assists in three previous games against the Devils. . .Moore added another goal in the third.

The Devils' Scott Gomez played after being fined almost $1,500 for elbowing the Canadiens' Alexei Emelin Friday. He drew a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
