Boucher, 22, is expected to compete for a full-time position with the Devils this season. He has played in 34 games over the last two seasons and has scored three goals whiles recording five assists.
“I've had a couple cracks at it,” Boucher said last week. “I feel pretty good. I've felt more comfortable the more comfortable the more games I've played in the NHL, so I'm feeling pretty good. I think there's spots to make the team. I was close last summer in training camp and I think I need to finally break through and crack the roster.”
In 62 games played with the Devils AHL affiliate in Albany last season, Boucher scored 15 goals and had 15 assists.
