Christensen said that he took his career to Europe more as a business decision than as a hockey decision. He said that he started to look at playing hockey as a job and for a guy like him, who admittedly has had "some ups but mostly downs" Prague and Europe was the best place for him to go to make a living.
As Cotsonika notes, "here is Christensen, living in Prague, making more money than he did in the NHL, playing a top-six role after being benched and scratched and demoted and traded last season in the NHL. He is among the expatriates taking a different path in a different league on a different continent."
