Giants-Chiefs

A much better effort this week from the Giants. Defense getting touched a little bit, but playing more a more aggressive style. The offense is picking up as well. Eli sacked twice and pressured, but thanks to a moving pocket, he's completed 12 of 17 for 140 and a TD. Rushing game is 9 for 42 - or 4.7 yards per carries

Fewer dumb penalties and no turnovers until 5:45 in the 2nd when Eli was sacked and stripped of the ball on the Giants' 34. But the Giants returned the favor two plays later when Spencer Paysinger fell on an aborted snap.

So far, it's been about missed chances. For instance....

I really want to have some hope heading into this weekend?s matchup with the Chiefs. But I cannot reasonably sit here and see how the Giants are going to rise up to the occasion on the road against a 3-0 team with a very good defense. It?s not like the Chiefs are this all-world team, but they?re flying high after last year?s 2-14 campaign. Plus, every team right now is looking like a challenge for the G-Men. What I do want to see is a close game in which the Giants actually make a few plays and are not blown out of the water by early in the third quarter. There is so much that this teams needs to work on that it is impossible to correct everything this weekend. Who knows? Maybe they?ll surprise us and finally wake up, play with some passion and make things interesting. But even if that?s the case, getting a win this week will be tough. Again though, let?s just hope for a somewhat competitive game of football. Chiefs 24, Giants 20

Kel Dansby: It's a given that the Giants won't go winless and the Chiefs wont go undefeated. So why not have both of those possibilities end this week? The Giants are feeling a lot of pressure and their backs are against the wall...again. If there's any fight left in this Giants team it will come out this weekend and they'll make a statement. I look for a 4th qtr comeback victory. Giants 28, Chiefs 24

Tom Uddo: I looked at this game at the start of the season and thought it would be a cake-walk for the Giants. This team is now winless on the season after three weeks and are playing worse each week. Their offense was anemic last week against a beaten up Panthers secondary and their defense was picked apart by Cam Newton. The undefeated Chiefs and QB Alex Smith have been flawless so far through the season, throwing for over 600 yards without an interception and RB Jamaal Charles is a game changer. Even worse; Kansas City has possibly the best defensive line in the entire NFL and after Eli Manning was sacked seven times last week against Carolina, it wouldn't shock me if the Chiefs don't take Manning down 5+ times again. This team is falling apart, and while I am always looking on the positive side of things when it comes to the teams that I cover, I can't see the Giants leaving Arrowhead Stadium with their first win of the season. Chiefs 24, Giants 17

The Giants will travel to Kansas City today for their clash with the undefeated Chiefs tomorrow afternoon. The team is banding together in the quest to end their dismal start. They know what they need to do. Now it's just the act of getting it done.

"When we look back at it last week we just know that we simply did not get the job done," said CB Prince Amukamara. "Carolina outplayed us and we just have to learn from the game, like we did, and get prepared to play next week. That?s how it is in the NFL, that?s what I?m learning, is that there?s a good team every week and our job is to try and go 1-0 every week."

S Ryan Mundy is still looking for his first win in Blue. He knows the drill, too. It's all about individuals making the sacrifice for the good of the team.
