The Giants' comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins yesterday was no masterpiece but the numbers were indicative of the outcome. The Giants did the things they needed to do to win - plain and simple.

They won the time of possession battle, holding the ball for 32 minutes, even though they had the same amount of possessions as Miami (10 - which is incredibly low in this day and age).

They stopped the Dolphins on their last five possessions: forcing them to punt four times and ending the game with a Corey Webster interception.

There are no style points in the NFL standings. Just Ws, Ls and Ts. Today, the Giants walked out of MetLife Stadium with a W. ?At the end of the day, that is all the league office will be putting in the books....

Still to be determined is the health of two key offensive players: WR Hakeem Nicks and RB Ahmad Bradshaw. ?Nicks injured a hamstring and Bradshaw re-injured the foot that confounded him much of last season. We won't know the extent of each injury until later tomorrow.

The finsiders.com blog does a great job covering the Miami Dolphins. Even if you're not a Dolphin fan, it's chock full of great stuff including video analysis with host Jesse Agler.

Columnist John Congemi provides his three keys for the Dolphins to hang with the Giants this afternoon. The first, of course, is to slow down the Giants' pass rush. The second key is to win the early downs:

Manning and the Giants offense hasn?t fared much better than the Dolphins offense on third down early in this season (31.5 percent), and that?s where Miami must create the turnover or get off the field. Six sacks last week on Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow was a great start, but Manning will get rid of the football much quicker than Tebow...

Week 8 of this NFL season isn't going to keep anyone riveted to the barcolounger this weekend. there us only one contest that features opponents with winning records: New England (5-1) at Pittsburgh (5-2).

The Giants (4-2) will play host to the Miami Dolphins (0-6) in one of the many unattractive matchups on the schedule this week.

Miami is one of three winless team's in the league right now and the fans are already looking towards next year's draft, in which the grand prize is Stanford QB Andrew Luck.

Tom Coughlin is being very cautious to not look past the 0-6 Miami Dolphins. He knows his Giants are notorious for playing to the level of their competition, just as they did three weeks ago vs the Seahawks...

?Respect all and fear none? is the approach we take. What we are trying to do is be concerned with our team and making sure that our team plays and takes our execution to another level. We want to eliminate any lull in our play and continue the concept of not turning the ball over.
