The Giants' wide receiver corps just can't catch a break.
Midway through practice, WR Amba Etta-Tawo fell awkwardly on a catch and he looked to have a leg injury as he got carted off the field. Well, the Giants announced Monday that Etta-Tawo actually tore his Achilles on the play, and is now out for the rest of the season.
Etta-Tawo was signed to the Giants yet again this offseason due to the injuries to the group. He was with the Giants back in 2017 when he was signed to their practice squad. He landed on the Texans as well as the Birmingham Iron in the AAF last season as well.
Etta-Tawo has yet to see game action in the NFL since breaking in with the Jaguars in 2017. And he'll now have to wait another season before that happens.
Other than Etta-Tawo, Corey Coleman was lost for the season with an ACL injury, and Sterling Shepard's fractured right thumb has held him out of real action during camp thus far. Golden Tate is also facing a four-game suspension to start the year for violating the league's PED policy. He is currently trying to fight that suspension.
