Bradshaw went out f his way today on several TV and radio appearances not to bash the Giants, leading us to believe something could be brewing on the back burner.
From ESPN Wednesday:
"I saw it coming because of the money. Everything is about money I guess, so yes I was expecting it. I'm not discouraged at all. I'm just looking towards getting healthy and working with somebody else.
That is all I can do. The Giants fans will always be remembered and always be loved. This is where I started and I just want to thank everybody for their support. Hopefully I'll be back soon."
And there it is. He just had surgery on his foot recently and who knows when he'll be back to 100% again. If he were still under contract, Bradshaw's status would be questionable. Who knows when he'd be ready. August would be nice. Even May for minicamp.....?
With the emergence of David Wilson, Bradshaw's touches will be reduced under any circumstances. But depth remains an issue. Currently, the only backups to Wilson on the roster are Kregg Lumpkin and Ryan Torain. Both will be unrestricted come March 12 and the Giants probably won't bring both back. Da'Rel Scott will be back, but little can be expected of him at this point.
The team is also hoping Andre Brown can recover from knee surgery this offseason. He will be a restricted free agent this March.
So Bradshaw is gone, for now. Can't see the Blue passing on him this summer if he's available.
