We learned yesterday that Fewell is on the list of candidates for the head coaching vacancies in Cleveland, San Francisco and Carolina. You can add Denver to that growing list as well.
John Elway met the media today for the first time as the Broncos' EVP of Football Operations. One of the subjects he addressed was the search for a new head coach.
According to Sean Leahy of USA Today.....
His first big hire may be a new head coach. Elway said the Broncos are interested in hiring Stanford's Jim Harbaugh. Other candidates include Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and interim Denver coach Eric Studesville.Rooney Rule: The Rooney Rule, established in 2003, requires National Football League teams to interview minority candidates for head coaching and senior football operations opportunities. The rule is named for Dan Rooney, the owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the chairman of the league's diversity committee, and indirectly the Rooney family in general, due to the Steelers' long history of giving African Americans opportunities to serve in team leadership roles.
