In CBS Sports' latest mock draft, the Giants select UCLA QB Josh Rosen with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Rosen has been connected with the Giants through multiple mock drafts, and it comes as no surprise given Eli Manning's age. The Giants are also in the midset of a front office switch, and new GM Dave Gettleman may want his own franchise quarterback of the future to work with this season.
The 6-foot-4, 218 pound quarterback is highly touted as a potential No. 1 pick, and with this mock draft having the Browns select USC QB Sam Darnold, Rosen will find his way to Big Blue on Draft Day.
"Rosen's game is a lot like Eli Manning's when he joined the Giants in 2004," Chris Trapasso writes. "In this situation, Rosen sits behind Eli for at least half the season before taking over."
Gettleman has repeated that Manning is his guy for 2018, but that doesn't mean he won't be on a tight leash. If he falters, Rosen could see time under center as a rookie.
Rosen had his beat year with UCLA this season, throwing for 3,717 yards, 26 touchdowns, and a 62.5 completion percentage -- all of which are career highs.
