Giants S Landon Collins has an odd idea regarding the type of player the team should select with the No. 2 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
"That's a big, that's a tough one," Collins said Wednesday on ESPN's First Take. "I don't say it's a quarterback, no. I don't say it's a quarterback. I'd say we see what we do this offseason. I would say, um, probably get some help at wide receiver. Get Odell, Brandon Marshall, and Sterling [Shepard] and Eli [Manning] some more options."
Aside from the above players as receiving options, the Giants also have TE Evan Engram, who excelled during his rookie season.
The Giants are widely expected to draft a QB with the No. 2 pick, and if they don't go that route, Penn State RB Saquon Barkley is also expected to be on the board when they make their selection.
Regarding Manning, Collins suggested his recent struggles can be attributed to the lack of production on the offensive line.
"He's not playing up to the level I used to watch him play when I used to watch him on TV and stuff like that," Collins said. "It's just I would say he needs a line."
He had 104 total tackles, one forced fumble, and two interceptions in 15 games this season.
