Diehl, 31, a member of both of Big Blue’s recent Super Bowl teams, was driving his black BMW when he struck two vehicles on 35th Avenue near 31st Street in Astoria at around 8:20 p.m., the sources said.....he had been celebrating a few blocks away at Scorpio’s on Broadway while watching a soccer match, allegedly blew a .18 on the Breathalyzer. The legal limit is .08. He was not hurt, and was being held at the 114th Precinct station house early today.The incident comes just 48 hours after Diehl and the Giants' organization were honored by the President and the US Armed Forces at the White House.
Diehl will face charges in front of a judge today in Queens. The Giants have yet to comment on the unfolding events but Diehl's agent, Peter Schaffer, released the below statement to the media:
"I am honored to represent David Diehl, one of, if not the classiest, most humble New York Giants ever."
