With Henry Hynoski on the shelf indefinitely, the Giants may be looking for either another fullback - or option - to put in their backfield. Roll this name around your mouth: Brandon Jacobs.
Although it's highly unlikely, the Giants have been in a sentimental mood of late and could consider their former vocal leader as a possibility to defray the loss of Hynoski.
We all know Jacobs, as big as he is, is not a great short-yardage back. He is not a pile-pusher per se. But opponents still fear his presence. They don't want him getting loose in their back seven.
It's an interesting idea, but the team may have turned the page on Jacobs. How healthy is he? Is he willing to risk his health for the veteran minimum? Can he play fullback?
Then there's the question if he's willing to play fullback. He answered that via his Twitter account (@gatorboyrb) yesterday:
There's everybody doing the same as always blowing sh** outta proportion, full back is not my position that's not what I do...And no I don't need football that much where I am willing to do what ever. The odds seem long on this one, folks. But the Giants have been known to 'explore everything.' If they can bring back Aaron Ross, Keith Rivers, Ramses Barden and Terrell Thomas, why not Jacobs?
Do you think the Giants should consider bringing Jacobs back...?
