Eli Manning is many things.
He's a Giants legend, a two-time Super Bowl champion and MVP, and an iconic figure in New York sports. But could he now be adding a new title -- Twitter user -- to his illustrious resume?
Former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, who was teammates with Manning from 2007-2012, shared a screenshot of a text message conversation he had with Manning -- or at least he wants us to believe it's Manning -- with No. 10 saying that a dive into the Twitter pool could be coming soon.
I had a really nice text exchange with a QB friend of mine telling him he needs to activate a Twitter account. Here is the reply, fingers crossed 🤞 pic.twitter.com/vvH5hV2VPO- 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐬 (@lt4kicks) April 15, 2020
"Thinking about it."
With just three words, Manning likely drove Giants fans into a tizzy.
Manning always led by his actions and not much with his words during his 16-year career with Big Blue, and while he showed some glimpses of his personality here and there -- including hosting Saturday Night Live -- Manning typically kept things very private and was never one to be incredibly vocal about much of anything.
But now that his playing days are over, Manning is living the retired life with his wife, Abby, taking care of their four children at their New Jersey home.
What would Manning have to say on Twitter? Who knows. But does it really matter? Simply staying up to date with Manning would be enough to keep Giants fans happy.
Editor's Note: Lawrence Tynes should also charge his phone.
