With the regular season winding down and the Giants in no position to make the playoffs, Eli Manning's final days with the Giants are likely coming to a close...but could there be another start left in him?

Manning hasn't started -- let alone appeared in a game -- since Sept. 15, when the Giants fell to the Bills in MetLife Stadium's home opener. Later in the week, head coach Pat Shurmur named No. 6 overall pick Daniel Jones as the team's new starting quarterback, benching the man who had been the leader of the team for essentially every game since the end of the 2004 season.

With some other big name players receiving "farewell" games or tours, it seems fitting that Manning could receive the same from the only team he's played for during his 16-year career.

The Giants have three home games left to choose from for Manning to start, but they all come with some questionable roadblocks.

First, they host the Packers, but putting Manning up against Aaron Rodgers and the Super Bowl contending Packers would be cruel.

They play the formerly "tanking" Dolphins two games later, but by then, the Giants could be riding a nine-game losing streak and the team could have given up on the season already. Plus, it's not the final game of the season, meaning Jones would still get the start two more times.

But the final game of the season is against the Eagles. Yes, it would be great to see Manning go up against a long-time division rival again, and this seems like the most likely option.

However, the Eagles are fighting to win the NFC East, so they will surely be playing with 110 percent intensity in that game. So the final product that Manning produces could be very different than the results we saw from the likes of Kobe Bryant (60 points), Dwyane Wade (triple-double) or Derek Jeter (game winning RBI) in their big finales.

No matter if or when this farewell game happens, Manning reportedly wants nothing to do with the idea, according to an insider that spoke to Paul Schwartz of The New York Post.

"Eli's not into playing that game," the insider said. "He's into playing the game the way it's supposed to be played."

According to the insider, Manning would view a last-start spectacle as "ceremonial nonsense," has given "zero thought to that" and "he would not want any part of that"

But considering how this season has gone for the Giants, Manning deserves one more shot to get on the field and lead the team, and the fans surely would love to see him one last time.
