It's never to early to start talking fantasy football and with the Giants roster taking shape it's safe to say that the offense will produce some fantasy football must-haves.
Let's start at the Quarterback position with Eli Manning. Last year was seen as a step backwards for the two time Super Bowl champ but in terms of fantasy Eli once again broke the 300 point mark. His 3,900+ passing yards was the first time he failed to get over 4,000 since 2008. His last 4 seasons he's totalled 4,021, 4,022, 4,933, 3,948 yards.
Eli also threw the third lowest interception total of his career with 15 last season. His fantasy numbers reflect his growth as a QB and a leader of this Giants squad.
- 2008 - 15.8 FFPts/G
- 2009 - 19.7 FFPts/G
- 2010 - 20.7 FFPts/G
- 2011 - 23.1 FFPts/G
- 2012 - 19.0 FFPts/G
All signs point towards star slot receiver Victor Cruz resigning and Wide Out Hakeem Nicks being 100% healthy heading into camp. Both of those receivers can be penciled in for 75+ receptions and 1,000 yds receiving dependant on health. Add second year wide receiver Rueben Randle to that mix and the offense should be tailored perfectly to a 4,500+ passing year for Eli.
Randle should give them 700 yards, slightly over 50 ypg, and newly acquired TE Brandon Myers had 79 receptions/800 yards for an Oakland team with Carson Palmer under center. If you are adding up these hypothetical totals we are currently at 3,500 yards between 4 players. Multi dimensional running back David Wilson should add 500 yards receiving to that total to break the 4,000 yard mark. Ahmad Bradshaw averaged 42 receptions out of the Giants backfield, which means Wilson would need to average 11.2 ypc. We've all seen Wilson in the ope field and 12 yard per catch isn't a reach for a player of his caliber.
Now if any one of those players exceed those numbers or if we were to add reception by back up receivers/tight ends we could easily project Eli back into the top 5 FF QBs for 2013.
Here are the predictions for Eli Mannings 2013 season:
4,856 yards, 34 TDs , 19 INTs, 385 fantasy points, 24.1 FFP/G.
