Former Giants OL Justin Pugh took to Instagram to leave a heartfelt message for his former club and its fans after he reportedly signed a four-year $45 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals last week.
A first-round pick by the Giants back in 2013, Pugh has played and started in all 63 games he has played with New York over his five-year career. He was also an NFL All-Rookie Team member in 2013. The 27-year-old struggled with back issues last season, playing in only eight games.
New York...New Jersey... I want to thank you. Thank you for accepting a Philly boy onto your team and into your community. This city raised me from a young naive kid right out of college into the man I am today. They say if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere. We're about to put that to the test in Arizona. First off, I want thank the Mara and Tisch families for running such a first-class organization and for giving me the opportunity to play for the New York Football Giants. I want to thank Tom Coughlin and Jerry Reese for making my dreams come true and drafting me with the No. 19 overall pick back in 2013. Never in a million years did I believe I would be playing in the NFL, let alone be able to play for one of the best organizations in football. Thank you to all of my coaches throughout my career in NY. Tom Coughlin, Ben Mcadoo, Pat Flaherty, Mike Solari and Lunda Wells and all of the others that positively impacted my career. Thank you to all of my teammates from Giant legends I met my rookie year to the young guys that are still on the team now. That brotherhood will last forever. To all of the front office staff, Equipment, Medical, PR, Production and the Cafeteria -- you guys are what makes Giants culture so great. You all know who you are. Thank you! Lastly the fans! You guys have stuck with me and have had my back since the day I was drafted. I wish we could have had more success in my time in New York, but you all have made me and my family feel welcome. I've had the pleasure of running into some of you guys on my way to Arizona in the airport... You stopped and thanked me and congratulated me -- that truly means the world. Now it's time for me to head out west -- I can't wait to start this next chapter with the Arizona Cardinals but will always be grateful of my time with the Giants. Take care Big Blue Nation! @nygiants
