Former Giants WR Hakeem Nicks isn't done with his football career just yet.
The XFL is hosting Summer showcases all over the country to find the best players for their inaugural season in 2020. And the Super Bowl champion will be among the participants in the New York tryout on Friday, according to the official Twitter account.
Nicks last played in the NFL on a contract with the Saints. However, he was waived on Aug. 8, 2016 and hasn't been in the league since. But the 31-year-old isn't about to hang up his cleats for good just yet.
Drafted in the first round by the Giants back in 2009, Nicks became Eli Manning's top option in the passing game during his first seasons with Big Blue. He played a pivotal role in the 2011 Super Bowl run, with his biggest play coming in the NFC Championship Game in Green Bay when he hauled in a hail mary in the end zone right before halftime, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
He had two 1,000-yard seasons in 2010 and 2011, and had double-digit touchdowns in 2010 with 11. Over six seasons with the Giants, Nicks hauled in 318 receptions for 4,676 yards and 27 touchdowns.
