The Giants have reportedly locked up long snapper Zak DeOssie for the next four seasons. A great move, much like the Steve Weatherford signing. The Giants refuse to let their special teams fall into disrepair. We shall label it the Desean Initiative (a la the great Robert Ludlum).
From our inside man, Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger:
The team has a reliable [long snapper] in Zak DeOssie and just ensured he'll be around a while longer with a three-year contract extension through the 2015 season, as first noticed by the folks at BigBlueInteractive.com.
Per NFL Players Association records, DeOssie's new deal is worth $3.45 million, with $900,000 guaranteed. DeOssie, who turns 28 next month, was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after this upcoming season. He had signed a two-year extension (technically a reworked three-year deal) for $3.3 million in 2010.
