With nine games to go, the Giants can go a long way to help their cause with a win vs the Colts tonight. A victory would pull them back up to .500 and set them up to go on a run.
That sounds crazy considering who is on their schedule the next four week. Or does it? If they can pull off a win here and get RB Rashad Jennings and OL Geoff Schwartz back for Week 10, the offense will be stronger for the rest of the season.
The Colts were destroyed by the Steelers last week. They scored their points but gave up 51. The Giants, if they open things up a bit, can make a stand in this game and win in a shootout.
In Week 10, they go to Seattle, who is 5-3 at the turn and not looking anywhere nearly impressive as they did a year ago. They barely staved off the Raiders at home yesterday.
San Francisco (4-4) comes to MetLife in Week 11 also not what they were in years past. They have been largely inconsistent. Injuries have bogged them down, but isn't that everyone's problem these days?
In Week 12, the Giants host the Cowboys and will be looking for some revenge. They matched up fairly well in most areas with Dallas in Week 7, but will be a different team by then. Jennings and Schwartz will be back and the Giants' offense will likely be in high gear by then.
