Is this the week? Is this the game the Giants' finally put something together?
We'll see. The fans will be out in full force to help push the Giants along vs the Cardinals, who may be playing without QB Carson Palmer, who has "a never thing" going on in his shoulder and hasn't thrown a football since Monday. If Palmer cannot play, Drew Stanton will get the call. The latest is that Palmer is "50-50" to play today.
In addition, the Cards' feature RB, Andre Ellington, has been battling a foot injury and was limited in practice all wee, so the Giants may not be getting Arizona at full strength.
Through the air, Arizona is very dangerous. WR Larry Fitzgerald is all-world, but Michael Floyd has become a formidable compliment on the other side. Throw in rookie John Brown, and the Giants are up against another quality group of wideouts this afternoon.
But it's the Giant offense that everyone will be focusing on. Can Eli Manning and his receivers finally get a rhythm going? Arizona has an excellent defense. In their opener vs San Diego last Monday, they only allowed 290 total yards.
Last week, the Chargers could only muster 2.2 yards per carry against the Cards, so running the ball could be a challenge for the Giants today. So pass, it must be...calling Larry Donnell...
For those interested, coming east should not be a problem for Arizona. The Cards are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games and 4-0 ATS in their last four on the road. The weather should not be a factor today. It will be sunny and in the 70's.
