Of course, we know the Giants would end up taking Nicks, leaving Britt to be scooped up by the Tennessee Titans with the very next selection. The Giants and their fans never looked back. Nicks is a budding superstar and a great kid.
Britt is also very talented, but he's having a hard time staying out of trouble. Since Britt was taken by the Titans two years ago, he's had multiple run-ins with the law. He was arrested in Bayonne, NJ on Tuesday after eluding police who flagged him for speeding. It seems he's amassed quite a record over the past two years....
According to Paul Kuharsky of ESPN:
Britt was arrested in January 2010 for three outstanding traffic warrants during a New Jersey traffic stop. He paid the $865 due and was released.Chalk another one up for Jerry Reese and Co. by passing on Britt and taking Nicks.....
He's also involved in civil litigation in New Jersey for allegedly not paying a bail bond he helped secure for a friend, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio.
Nashville police stopped him in August during training camp, ticketing him for driving without a license because he obtained a photo ID after misplacing his license.
He also was accused of being involved in a bar fight Oct. 22 in Nashville, but authorities later decided not to charge him.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher benched the receiver after repeated mistakes during a preseason game.
