Giants tight end Evan Engram "has a shot" to play in Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Pat Shurmur told reporters on Monday.
Engram, the second-year tight end, has missed back-to-back games with a sprained right MCL. He and linebacker Olivier Vernon, who has yet to play in a game this season due to an ankle injury, were both limited in Monday's practice.
"We're still hopeful about Vernon," Shurmur said.
Tight end Rhett Ellison did not practice due to a sore foot, while kicker Aldrick Rosas also did not practice with right quad soreness.
Linebacker Josh Mauro (groin), wide receiver Russell Shepard (neck) and wide receiver Jawill Davis (shoulder) were also limited.
The Eagles will be without running back Jay Ajayi, whom they placed on injured reserve on Monday after he reportedly suffered a torn ACL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
