The Giants have expressed interest in former Raiders offensive tackle Menelik Watson, according to Seth Walder of New York Daily News.
Per Walder, the talks are still in a preliminary stage.
Watson was taken by Oakland in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After starting 12 games during his first two seasons, Watson tore his Achilles during the 2015 campaign and missed the entire season. The injury seemed to linger last year as the tackle struggled throughout the whole season.
According to Pro Football Focus, Watson ranked No. 56 overall among offensive tackles last season, one of the worst in the league, earning a PFF grade of 49.4 (48.8 pass blocking and 55.4 run blocking).
