The Giants had to settle for three field goals and were unable to take advantage of a scoring opportunity inside two minutes in a 20-15 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.
Down by five inside two minutes, Eli Manning led the Giants' offense down the field, but ulitmately a dropped pass by Sterling Shepard and a turnover on downs doomed the Giants' drive.
New York's defense managed to quickly stop the Jaguars to set up another potential final drive for the Manning and the offense, but Kaelin Clay muffed a punt with less than a minute remaining in the fourth to seal the win for Jacksonville.
Manning was very efficient early on, completing his first 11 passes in the first half. But he completed just 12 of his final 26 passes as the Giants continued to settle for field goals. With 11:24 to go in the game, Manning quickly threw a pass while under pressure and it was tipped, then picked off by Jack Myles, who ran it back for a 32-yard touchdown.
RB Saquon Barkley scored his first career touchdown on a 68-yard scamper down the right sideline in the fourth quarter, marking the Giants' only touchdown of the game.
Barkley totaled 106 yards in his debut, while Odell Beckham led the Giants with 11 catches for 111 yards. Aldrick Rosas was 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 44-yarder in the third quarter.
Janoris Jenkins had an interception in the first half and led the Giants with five tackles in the game.
