After signing No. 2 pick Saquon Barkley to a massive, fully-guaranteed contract on Sunday, the Giants locked up their final draft pick by signing fifth-round defensive tackle R.J. McIntosh to a four-year, $2.7 million deal.
McIntosh, who missed all of the team's spring practices, will begin training camp on the active-non-football illness list with an undisclosed illness.
During the NFL combine, McIntosh was diagnosed with a thyroid condition, and Giants head coach Pat Shurmur said in June that McIntosh was scheduled to undergo "a procedure."
McIntosh, 22, recorded 5.5 sacks in three seasons with Miami (Fla.), including 2.5 as a junior in 2017 before he forwent his senior season to enter the draft.
