Giants' UFAs still unsigned: K Lawrence Tynes, WR Ramses Barden. DL Rocky Bernard, TE Travis Beckum, CB Bruce Johnson, OL Sean Locklear, DB Justin Tryon
Fennelly: I don't expect to see any of these players in a Giant uniform ever again. They have a ton of DLs now and on the OL, they believe they have enough going into the draft after re-signing Will Beatty and Kevin Boothe. The only player we may see back is Tynes, but that would be only if the Josh Brown/David Buehler competition went completely awry.
The top UFAs left on the market in spots where the Giants may need some veteran help....
RB: Ahmad Bradshaw, Beanie Wells, Cedric Benson, Bernard Scott, Michael Turner, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis, Brandon Jacobs, Rashad Jennings, La'Rod Stephens-Howling, Javon Ringer, Tim Hightower, Kevin Smith
Fennelly: They could use another veteran RB in the backfield. From the above group, take your pick. Bradshaw will probably sign elsewhere. Hightower was here and left without a contract. Not sure how much gas is left in Turner's tank. A reunion with Jacobs would be interesting, but is unlikely.
WR: Brandon Lloyd, Julian Edelman, Laurent Robinson, Randy Moss, Braylon Edwards, Austin Collie, Josh Cribbs, Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokley, Steve Breaston
Fennelly: The Giants still have interest in Edelman, but he left this week without a contract. Stokley has been here before. They like him, but he's getting up in age. Not sure if any of the others would play for the minimum. The Giants are well-stocked at WR, so I really don't see them making a move outside of Edelman here.
OT: Andre Smith, Eric Winston, Tyson Clabo, Jared Gaither, Ryan Harris, Winston Justice, Chad Clifton, Bryant McKinnie, Max Starks
Fennelly: Forget it. Maybe after the draft. None of these guys fit either the pay scale or the strategy.
ILB: Karlos Dansby, Brian Urlacher, Tim Dobbins, Rolando McClain, Bart Scott, Bradie James, Larry Grant, Takeo Spikes, Keith Brooking
Fennelly: Dansby will not play for the minimum, so scratch him off. Urlacher's skills have diminished to the point where he won't be much of a help to the Giants. McClain could interest Jerry Reese, but they haven't made any overtures as of yet. He's only 23 and -as we have said- a change of scenery could be just what he needs to fulfill his potential, but he has baggage the Giants may not be able to get past (READ).
