Miami DE Adewale Ojomo has the potential to become a part of the Giants' D-line rotation.
The Giants have excelled at the draft table under the stewardship of GM Jerry Reese. He's simply crushed it for the Blue since taking over in 2007. The team has won it all twice during his short tenure, which is not only testament to his drafting prowess but to his ability to pick up loose ends - or UDFAs - after the draft.
In years past, Reese has picked up players such as WR Victor Cruz, TE Jake Ballard, CB Bruce Johnson, FB Henry Hynoski and LBs Mark Herzlich and Spencer Paysinger.
This year, the draft hasn't been fully digested and the team has already inked ten UDFAs according to scouting director Marc Ross. Here are those names:
- DE Matt Broha, Louisiana Tech
- FB Joe Martinek, Rutgers
- WR David Douglas, Arizona
- WR Julian Talley, UMass
- DE Adewale Ojomo, Miami
- S Jojo Nicolas, Miami
- S Janzen Jackson, McNeese State
- OL De'Angelo McCray, Memphis
- OL Stephen Goodwin, Nebraska-Kearney
- WR Damian Davis, Mary Hardin-Baylor
As per Jorge Castillo of the Star-Ledger
"...Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross confirmed the signing. The 6-foot, 224-pounder ran a 4.5 40-yard-dash at Rutgers' pro day after catching 27 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown in addition to 24 rushes for 123 yards in 2011
"We had him at the local day," Ross said. "We’ve been to tons of Rutgers games. He’s just a gritty, hard-nosed football player. He’s played fullback, he’s played running back, done whatever they asked. He worked out really well. Can really catch the ball. A guy you can throw in at any position there in the backfield and he’ll not miss a beat."
