The Giants have hired Burton Burns as their new running backs coach, according to Alex Marvez of Sirius XM NFL Radio.
Burns, 67, was the associate head coach and running backs coach at Alabama from 2007 until 2018.
His ties to Giants head coach Joe Judge go back to Alabama, where Judge was a special teams assistant from 2009 to 2011.
Burns has been a part of five National Championship teams under Nick Saban at Alabama, and has coached two Heisman Trophy winners. Running back Mark Ingram won the award in 2009 and Derrick Henry won in 2015, while Trent Richardson was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2011.
Prior to his career at Alabama, Burns was the Clemson running backs coach from 1999-2006, an assistant at Tulane (1994-1998), and Southern (1981-1985).
