All 53 Giants players practice on Thursday, but DE Olivier Vernon was still a limited participant. Until today.
Vernon (ribs) was upgraded to a full practice participant on Friday ahead of the Giants' Monday Night Football matchup on the road against the Falcons. The veteran edge rusher obviously has more time to get healthy with two more days before gameday, but it is good to see him out there in full.
Defensive coordinator James Bettcher preaches to "never look back," but when it comes to Vernon, he loved what he saw last week.
"I love the way he'll trend, I love how he's working, I love how he played during the course of that game," Bettcher said. "I think he rushed both with speed and with power, he had production but he also more importantly had disruption and changed the pocket a little bit. The first thing you said is what I look forward to, is what's next, and I'm excited to see how he plays this coming Monday night.
One player wasn't able to practice for New York, with WR Jawill Davis not on the field due to a concussion. Fellow WR Russell Shepard (neck) and LT Nate Solder (neck) remained limited participants as well.
As for the Falcons, WR Calvin Ridley (ankle) was a limited participant after sitting out on Thursday. However, WR Mohamed Sanu (hip) stayed sidelined as well as K Matt Bryant, who is dealing with a hamstring issue in his kicking leg.
