Giants LB Olivier Vernon (ankle), who has missed the first two games of the season, has still not returned to practice. And it appears highly unlikely he'll be able to play on Sunday against the Texans.
Head coach Pat Shurmur said late last week that the Giants were hopeful Vernon would be able to return for Week 3, but he has not made any meaningful progress.
CB Eli Apple (groin) also missed practice Thursday, while LB Connor Barwin (knee) and TE Evan Engram (ankle) were limited.
WR Kaelin Clay (ankle) practiced in full.
