Looking for reason to believe in one of New York's football teams? There's one reason hang onto that sliver of hope.
Both the Jets (1-6) and Giants (2-5) sport schedules that are among the easiest in the NFL through the remainder of the season.
One of the two tops the list and takes the title of having the easiest schedule in the entire league.
The Jets (1-6) have that one. Their upcoming opponents combined have a .286 winning percent. The Jets' remaining slate starts with the winless Miami Dolphins, and includes two games against that division rival still left.
That, plus a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the other remaining winless team currently left in the NFL, helps.
The Giants are a few slots behind the Jets, but also don't have a bumpy road en route. Big Blue's upcoming opponents have a combined .407 winning percent down the stretch, the sixth-easiest schedule in the NFL.
In a good note for the Giants and bad note for the Jets, the four other teams in the top-five with Gang Green all play in the AFC. Those include the Browns (.305), the Raiders (.364), the Bills (.391) and the Steelers (.396). That makes the Giants' remaining schedule the easiest in the NFC.
The Giants have a big game next, though. They face the Dallas Cowboys (4-4) in a pivotal NFC East matchup.
Naturally what also helps both sides in this formula is their Week 10 game, since they face one another on Nov. 10.
