A couple of rough outings for New York's football teams have the oddsmakers thinking little of both the Jets and Giants in Week 6.
Both teams are more than a touchdown underdog in their upcoming contests in their respective opening lines for the NFL's upcoming week.
In little surprise, the Giants got the worst of it.
Per Bet Online via Odds Shark, the Giants are 15.5-point underdogs as they travel to New England for a Thursday Night Football meeting with the Patriots. The Pats remained undefeated in Week 5 with a big 33-7 win over the Washington Redskins. The Giants fell 28-10 to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Jets aren't looking much better, but their line could certainly change depending on the status of quarterback Sam Darnold and his bout with mono. Oddsmakers gave the Jets' upcoming opponent, the Dallas Cowboys, an 8.5-point edge next week. Had the game been on the road, the Jets could be11.5-point underdogs.
With third-string QB Luke Falk leading the way against a strong Philadelphia Eagles contest, the Jets were over matched and fell 31-6. The Cowboys also suffered a loss as the Packers came to town and won 34-24 in Week 5. It was their second-straight loss after starting the season 3-0.
