This offense has no swagger.
This team should be able to close out games with ease and crush opponents at will. Why is attitude so important? Because the New York Giants have one of the most talented offenses in the NFL, but clearly lack the keys to start the engine.
The New York Giants need a new offensive coordinator.
An Offensive Coordinator that understands today's NFL, which is a passing, creative, go up top and repeat until you stop it... type of offense. The Giants need youth. Kevin Gilbride has done an adequate job but The NY Giants offense has come up lame. Not in stats, because the talent on this team refuses to be kept down. They rise despite the situation and their athletic ability shows through when opportunity presents itself. But...
Eli & Company should be feared and game planned for!
Seriously, think about it. Are you taking Marques Colston over Hakeem Nicks? No, of course not! Are you taking Johnny Knox over Mario Manningham? No, of course not! Are you taking Jay Cutler over Eli Manning? No, of course not! Are you taking LeSean McCoy over Ahmad Bradshaw? No, of course not!
This squad needs a new attitude. Kevin Gilbride is nice coach. The Giants don't need a nice offensive coordinator, they need a young innovative mind. A coach with understanding of down and distance..what is needed and when it's needed. A coach that can create the element of surprise! And work with the talent that is before him.
It took Perry Fewell a few weeks; however, he utilized his players talents so well...that he brought the Giants defense back from the dead to become one of the most feared defensive units in the NFL. His work was recognized by players, coaches and owners across the league. His skills have now catapulted him to the head of the class with over 5 NFL teams awaiting his interview for a head coaching job.
Gilbride....well, he's still our Offensive Coordinator and nobody is knocking on Coughlin's door to interview him.
In 2011...we need to move on!
