"We’ll see," said Tom Coughlin yesterday when asked about injuries. "We’ll see how these guys come back. This is the first day and they’re sore."
On DL Chris Canty, who played his first game of the season Sunday: "Chris did well."
On if he expects to get LB Jacquian Williams (knee) or Kenny Phillips (knee) back this week: "We’re going to see tomorrow, we’ll see."
On the status of TE Travis Beckum (knee), who is still on PUP: "The decision probably will be made this week as to whether or not he’ll be able to practice or not. I’m not going to say right now. I think they need another day in the training room just to give us a full assessment."
On how WR Hakeem Nicks came out of Sunday's game: "I think he gets a little bit better each week. I think he’s mentally better, but I don’t know that he’s always physically able to do the things he really wants to do or we want him to do. He seemed to come out of it okay."
Last Saturday, the Giants placed RB Da'Rel Scott on season-ending IR to make room for Canty. They would have to release a player or re-designate one in order to add Beckum back to the roster. That being said, the Giants only have three RBs on the roster. Adding Beckum would give them four TEs: Beckum, Bear Pascoe, Martellus Bennett and rookie Adrien Robinson.
