New York Giants offensive lineman Justin Pugh is ready to go up against New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson on Saturday after their brief Twitter spat last month.
When Pugh took a shot at the Jets in early July, Wilkerson responded by saying he should be ready for the annual Jets-Giants preseason game.
While it isn't as brash as the war between Sheldon Richardson and Brandon Marshall, Pugh said he laughed off Wilkerson's "red dot" comments.
"I was laughing about it," Pugh said, according to the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard. "I know Mo. I see him at charity events and Rangers games. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but everyone else does. All of the O-linemen are giving me s--t about it. They're like, 'Pugh's got a red dot on his head.'"
The 27-year-old guard was complimentary of the Jets' defensive line, which also features Pro Bowler Leonard Williams, and said he and the rest of the Giants would be up for the task.
"I mean O-linemen, D-linemen, we go at each other as is. [Wilkerson's] a heck of a player," Pugh said. "They've got a really good defensive front, not just him -- Williams and Richardson. They're a good team up front defensively, so we've got our work cut out for us."
