The Giants have cut P Brad Wing, the team announced. The move frees up $1.025 million in cap space.
Wing, 27, spent the previous three years with the Giants after being acquired from the Steelers in September of 2015. Wing endured a down year in 2017, as his 36.7-yards net punt average ranked last in the NFL.
In 2016, Wing broke the Giants record for net punt average at 40.9-yards, which had been held by Jeff Feagles since 2008. That year he was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in both weeks 15 and 16, becoming the first Giant to do so in consecutive weeks.
Wing punted every game for the Giants over the last three years and was a teammate of Odell Beckham Jr. at LSU.
