Giants WR Sterling Shepard, who has been doing light activity on the side at practice this week while still in concussion protocol, has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Along with Shepard, the Giants will also be without Darius Slayton, who is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Adding to the wide receiver injury woes, Cody Latimer is questionable for Sunday's game due to a calf injury.
Without Shepard and Slayton, and already missing Golden Tate due to a four-game suspension, the Giants will be dangerously thin at wide receiver on Sunday, regardless of whether or not Latimer is able to play.
The Giants' healthy wide receivers right now are Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, TJ Jones, and Cody Core.
Even with Shepard in the lineup for the Giants' Week 1 loss, they relied heavily on tight end Evan Engram in the passing game, targeting him 14 times. Engram reeled in 11 of those passes for 116 yards and a touchdown.
Now, without Shepard, Slayton, and Tate, and potentially without Latimer, expect the Giants to go to Engram a lot for a second-straight game.
It would also be smart to give the ball to Saquon Barkley a ton -- something head coach Pat Shurmur strangely did not do during their loss to the Cowboys in Week 1.
