Manningham visited the Giants on Monday night and returned to the facility on Tuesday to undergo a physical (Vacchiano, March 18).
Manngingham spent two seasons in San Francisco, playing in only 18 games due to a knee injury, with just over 500 yards receiving and one touchdown. In four years with the Giants, from 2008-2011, Manningham had 18 touchdowns and over 2,000 yards receiving.
The Giants are filling up all their openings as fast as their critics can point them out. They will be going into this May's draft with fewer needs than anyone expected. It is a good place to be in.
Manningham is a nice fit for the Giants, as long as he remains a complimentary player. They always thought highly of him and Eli, as we know, has a lot of confidence in Mario. He appears to be healthy enough to warrant a second act here with the Giants.
Does that mean that WR won't be a possibility in the draft? Never assume anything with these Giants. They logged in a losing season for the first time in a decade an did not like the taste of it. They are willing (and finally able) to do everything in their power to get back into contention.
