The Giants on Tuesday signed veteran TE Scott Simonson and waived rookie CB Aaron Davis, the team announced.
Simonson has played in 18 games across stints with both the Panthers and Raiders. He was sidelined by a back injury in 2017, which landed him on the injured reserve.
Simonson has caught only one pass in his career -- a 10-yard recepton in 2015, when he played in a season-high nine games. He earned his first career start in 2016 with the Panthers.
Simonson joins an already-crowded field of tight ends on the Giants' roster.
Davis, who was undrafted, was signed by the Giants following this year's NFL draft.
