Now Commenting On:

The Giants moved to 4-0 on the preseason with another second half victory led by the backups. It was a coming out party of sorts for backup QB Ryan Nassib, who appears to have won the primary backup job. Nassib went 8/12 for 103 yards and three TDs to lead the Giants to a 35-24 win over the Jets at MetLife Stadium Friday night.

After the starters got outplayed by the Jets on both sides of the ball for the first 28 minutes of the game, QB Eli Manning, who was getting pounded like a drum by the Jets (who weren't even blitzing BTW), engineered a 11-play, 91-yard drive that resulted in a 15-yard TD reception by WR Rueben Randle to get the Giants with three right before halftime.

"He re-established himself as a tough customer tonight because he got drilled a few times and bounced right back up and made plays," said head coach Tom Coughlin about Eli after the game. "You never want to see him hit, but he got hit and he got back up and made some plays down the stretch at the end of the half."

Manning was picked off by Jets CB Kyle Wilson along the sideline during that drive, but was ruled out of bounds and the call was confirmed after a replay challenge by the Jets. But it was close...

Notes: Rookie WR Corey Washington caught a TD for the fourth week in a row. Welcome to the Giants, Corey. RB Rashad Jennings racked up 67 yards on 13 carries. WR Victor Cruz caught four passes out of seven targets for 61 yards. LB Devon Kennard had seven total tackles.

The TEs were targeted only once in the passing game. WR Preston Parker handled the PR duties and also ran back a KO for 29 yards. He also had three receptions for 52 yards and a TD. The Giants defense allowed 278 yards passing and 146 yards rushing but held the Jets to 3-for-11 on third downs. The Giants were flawless in the red zone again, scoring TDs on all three trips. Neither of Giants' PKs was given an opportunity to kick a FG.

GEICO SportsNite: Tom Coughlin and players find positives in their preseason game against the Jets, despite struggles along the offensive line.
