The Bears have hired former Giants tight ends coach Kevin M. Gilbride to the same role, the team announced.
Gilbride had been with the Giants since 2010 and had been the TE coach since 2014. This season, Gilbride oversaw TE Evan Engram, who enjoyed an impressive rookie season. Engram had 64 catches for 722 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Gilbride is the fifth Giants assistant to find a new job this winter. Adam Henry joined the Browns as wide receivers coach, Mike Sullivan left the team for the Broncos to be their quarterbacks coach, Frank Cignetti left to join Packers QB coach and defensive line coach Pat Graham joined the Packers in the same role.
The Giants continue their search for a new head coach, who will have ample room to stock the staff as he sees fit.
