The Giants announced Tuesday that they've waived wide receiver Bennie Fowler ahead of their Week 13 matchup with the Packers.
This is the second time the Giants have waived Fowler this season, having been cut in October only to be brought back a few weeks later.
Fowler has appeared in eight games this season for the Giants, grabbing 23 receptions for 193 yards and one touchdown in that span.
The move might come as a bit of a surprise to some considering Golden Tate entered the concussion protocol after falling awkwardly on his touchdown catch this past Sunday against the Bears.
But, with Tate out and safety Jabrill Peppers also set to miss time after suffering a transverse process fracture in Chicago, the Giants could be looking to bring in someone with punt and kick return experience.
Fowler was inactive against the Bears after being a late scratch from the lineup with Sterling Shepard coming out of the concussion protocol and becoming available.
