Former Giants great DE Michael Strahan will be one of seven new members inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame tonight. Strahan, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection who played all of his 15 NFL seasons with Big Blue, was voted in earlier this year in his second year of eligibility.

Strahan began his career with the Giants as a second-round draft pick in 1993, Lawrence Taylor and Phil Simms' last season, and ended it with a Super Bowl championship in 2008.

Joining Michael in the Hall tonight will be Oakland's legendary punter, Ray Guy, who set the league standard at his position and his considered the greatest to have ever played; and DE Claude Humphery, another worthy veteran who waited decades to hear his name called.

Others in the Class of 2014: Bucs' LB Derrick Brooks, an eleven-time Pro Bowler; OT Walter Jones, who anchored the Seattle Seahawks' line for more than a decade; former Cardinals and Rams CB Aeneas Williams, an eight-time Pro Bowler and former Bills' WR Andre Reed, who was on the other end of many a Jim Kelly TD pass.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on the NFL Network and ESPN beginning at 7pm Eastern.

Brooks and Jones will each have their sons deliver their induction speeches. Humphery's daughter and Williams' father will give theirs. Guy will be inducted by his former coach, Hall of Famer John Madden. Reed will have his former HOF coach, Marv Levy, deliver his.

Michael will be inducted by his close friend and colleague, FOX Sports super-reporter Jay Glazer.

In a recent interview, Strahan was asked what it's like to join other Giant greats such as Lawrence Taylor, Harry Carson and late owner Wellington Mara in the Hall of Fame:

"I mean, it’s, I guess, overwhelming to be honest with you because obviously Mr. Mara was there when I was drafted and would come to practice every day and the face of the NFL more - and also of the Giants and one of the original pioneers of the game. So it just has such a rich history and on top of that, Harry Carson being a great friend of mine, as well as LT being a great friend and one guy I looked up to when I came in.

Just so much history on the side of the Giants and the fact that you can see we all spent our career all in one place which just goes to show that it’s a family. And I’m just honored because it’s nothing that I had in my brain, nothing I imagined when I start out that I’d be joining these guys in the Hall of Fame and, you know, I’m honored to be doing so."

Here are 22 facts about Michael Strahan, courtesy of the Giants' Public Relations Dept:

1. Played his entire 15-year career with the Giants from 1993-2007.

2. One of three players in the 89-year history of the Giants to play 15 years with the team. The others are Hall of Famer Mel Hein (1931-45) and Phil Simms 3(1979-93).

3. Played in a Giants-record 216 regular- season games (205 starts) and is one of 19 players in franchise history to play at least 10 postseason games (all starts). He moved into the starting lineup in his second NFL season in 1994 after missing seven games as a rookie due to a foot injury. Strahan played in every game for eight consecutive seasons (1996-2003) before tearing his pectoral muscle in 2004.

4. He played in all 16 regular-season 4games 11 times in his 15-year career.

5. Was the 2001 NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year.

6. Was selected to seven Pro Bowls. Only four Giants were selected to more Pro Bowls and all are Hall of Famers: linebackers Lawrence Taylor (10) and Harry Carson (9), offensive tackle Rosie Brown (9) and cornerback Emlen Tunnell (8).

7. Five-time NFC Defensive Player of the Week and the Defensive Player of 8 the Month in October 2001.

8. Defensive captain of the 2007 Giants team that won Super Bowl XLII.

9. Had 141.5 career regular season sacks, which is the Giants’ franchise record and the fifth-highest total in NFL history. The former Giants record-holder was Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor, who had 132.5 sacks. Taylor had 9.5 sacks as a rookie in 1981, the year before sacks became an official statistic.

10. When he retired following the 2007 season, Strahan’s 141.5 sacks placed him first

among active players.

11. Holds the NFL single-season record with 22.5 sacks in 2001. The previous record of 22 sacks was set by Mark Gastineau of the Jets in 1984. In setting the record, Strahan became the sixth player to record at least 20 sacks in a season since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. He was the 1st player with at least 20 sacks in a season since the late Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas accomplished the feat for Kansas City in 1990 and the 1st with 21 since Hall of Famer Chris Doleman did it in 1989. The previous Giants record was held by Taylor, who had 20.5 sacks in 1986.

12. Led the NFL in 2003 with 18.5 sacks, the 2nd-highest total of his career. He is the only Giants player to twice lead the league in sacks. The only other time a Giant topped the NFL’s sack list was 1986, when Taylor had 20.5 sacks. The only other players who have led the NFL in sacks at least twice are Mark Gastineau (1983-84), Hall of Famer Reggie White (1987-88), Kevin Greene (1994 and 1996) and Jared Allen (2007 and 2011).

13. Also holds the Giants’ postseason record with 9.5 sacks. Leonard Marshall is second with 7.0.

14. Had at least a half-sack against 64 different quarterbacks in the regular season, with Philadelphia’s Donovan McNabb being his most frequent victim (12.5)...His 21.5 sacks vs. the Eagles are the most against any opponent. Dallas is next at 18.0, followed by Washington at 17.0.

15. Career totals include 868 tackles (655 solo), 141.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 38 passes defensed, 23 forced fumbles and 15 fumble recoveries. He scored 3 touchdowns, 2 on interception returns and 1 on a fumble return.

16. According to STATSPASS, Strahan had 84.5 career stuffs, defined as tackles of running backs behind the line of scrimmage, for 189 yards in losses.

17. In his 15 seasons, the Giants’ defense was ranked among the NFL’s top 15 eight times and in the top 10 four times.

18. In those same 15 seasons, the Giants’ defense against the run was ranked among the NFL’s top 15 nine times and in the top 10 five times, peaking at No. 2 in 2000.

19. In postseason play, Strahan had 52 tackles (34 solo), 9.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

20. Made a big contribution in the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII victory vs. New England, finishing with 3 tackles (2 solo), 1 sack, 2 QB hurries, 4 QB hits and a pass defensed. He sacked Tom Brady for a 6-yard loss in the third quarter, tackled RB Laurence Maroney for a 2-yard loss in the second quarter and batted away a Brady pass intended for Kevin Faulk in the third quarter.

21. That postseason, Strahan had 10 tackles (5 solo) in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game at Dallas and 4 tackles (2 solo) in the NFC Championship Game at Green Bay.

22. During the 2000 season, started all 19 regular-season and postseason games and led the Giants to the NFC championship and a berth in Super Bowl XXXV. Had a team-high 4.5 sacks in the postseason, including 2.0 in a divisional playoff victory over Philadelphia.

GEICO SportsNite: Dez Bryant 00:02:28
On GEICO SportsNite, Ralph Vacchiano discusses the possibility of the New York Giants signing Dez Bryant after releasing Brandon Marshall.

He might want to see a deal get done, but the Giants currently don't have any interest in employing former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant next season.

At least, not right now.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport went on "NFL Up to the Minute" Friday night, and said the Giants haven't been among the teams he has heard looking at the wideout at the moment.

The Giants have finalized a trade for Broncos P Riley Dixon, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

In return, the Giants sent a conditional seventh-round 2019 draft pick to Denver.

After the release of P Brad Wing, the Giants have been in search of a new punter. Well, with former Raiders P Marquette King joining the Broncos this offseason, Dixon was on the trading block and the Giants appear to want his services for next season.

The Giants are sitting in the power position of the NFL draft, holding the fates of several teams and players in the palms of their hands. And everyone is watching, waiting and guessing, because no one is really sure what Dave Gettleman is going to do.

And that, by the way, is just how the Giants GM likes it.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The entire NFL world seems to know that the Giants are in love with Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. It's so obvious that even just a week before the draft, Giants GM Dave Gettleman isn't trying to hide it.

"I'm not going to lie. He's a tremendous talent," Gettleman said at his pre-draft press conference on Thursday. "You put the film on of a defensive guy and if they're playing Penn State, then I'm watching Saquon. He's one of those guys that my mother could have scouted. She could have figured that one out."

So the Giants are taking him with the second overall pick in the NFL draft, as long as the Cleveland Browns don't take him at No. 1, right?...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Dave Gettleman understands the high pressure of making the second overall pick in the draft, where he's said he expects to find a Hall of Fame-caliber player. It's even more intense this year, with so many quarterbacks potentially in play.

Pick the right one, and Gettleman could set the Giants up for the next decade. Pick the wrong one, he said, and "You've really hurt the franchise for probably five years. It's a five-year mistake."

But don't pick one at all, and let a great one slide past him - particularly with the Jets picking at No. 3? That's a mistake that could hurt the Giants for a decade, or maybe more...

The Giants have released WR Brandon Marshall due to a failed physical, GM Dave Gettleman said on Thursday. Marshall had agreed to take a pay cut, but was released anyway, reports Kimberly A. Martin of The Washington Post.

Marshall signed a two-year deal prior to last season, and his release frees up $5.1 million in salary cap space for this season.

The 34-year-old Marshall missed the majority of the 2017 season due to season-ending ankle surgery after tearing ligaments in Week 5.

Who will the Giants select #2? 00:05:24

SNY NFL Insider Ralph Vacchiano and SNY NFL Draft Expert Rich Cirminiello discuss who the Giants will select 2nd overall in the NFL Draft next Thursday.

The question all along, according to Vacchiano, has been whether the Giants will tab their next franchise quarterback or Penn State RB Saquon Barkley.

"If the Browns go with Sam Darnold, which I expect to happen, I don't think the Giants take a quarterback," said Cirminiello, adding that at that point, the Giants should take the best player available -- which is Barkley...

Saquon Barkley can already envision himself in the Giants' offense. And it looks scary good.

Barkley recently spoke about the prospect of joining the Giants, which some believe is a lock next Thursday. Having his versatile skill set in the backfield to go along with Odell Beckham and Co. on the outside has a good ring to Barkley's ears.

"I think Eli Manning definitely has a lot in the tank left," Barkley told Penn State Live. "He's still an extraordinary player. You have Odell Beckham, one of the most exciting players in the NFL for three or four years. Then you talk about Sterling Shepard and the tight ends...

It isn't a smokescreen. Saquon Barkley appears to be the guy the Giants want at No. 2.

At least, that's what ESPN's Todd McShay feels from the Giants' camp. News has swirled around the Giants wanting to take Barkley with their first-round selection, with fellow ESPN analyst Louis Riddick saying there is a "strong sentiment" for Barkley in New York's building.

But McShay topped Riddick's opinion by saying it is "inevitable" the Penn State running back will be daunting a Big Blue jersey next season.

The Browns have the No. 1 and No. 4 overall picks in next Thursday's NFL Draft, and it is widely expected that they'll take a quarterback with the No. 1 pick. But if they opt to take Penn State RB Saquon Barkley -- whether it's at No. 1 or No. 4 -- his handlers reportedly won't be happy.

"They don't want him in Cleveland," writes Ben Baskin for SI in a wide-ranging piece. "They want him to go second to the Giants and play in the media capital of the world. That's where you can become the Face of the League."

According to Baskin, Barkley's manager wanted him to demand that the Browns not draft him -- which Barkley was against, with him telling friends recently that if he brings a championship to the Browns, there will be a statue built in his honor.

And when the Giants are on the clock next Thursday night, Barkley may indeed be the pick.

It would just be a mistake to completely rule the quarterbacks out yet.

Following his appearance at the Giants' facility for voluntary offseason workouts, the Odell Beckham Jr. trade talks have died down.

That is why Beckham's best friend and former LSU teammate in Browns WR Jarvis Landry is done trying to orchestrate a reunion. He believes Beckham will be in a Giants jersey at least for one more season.

Top RB prospect Saquon Barkley 00:01:02
Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is expected to be taken as the top RB in the 2018 NFL Draft.

In his latest mock draft, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer sees the Giants grabbing Penn State RB Saquon Barkley with their No. 2 overall pick.

There has been tons of hype surrounding the connection between Barkley and the Giants ever since his private workout last week. GM Dave Gettleman has spoken publicly about the running back's "unique" skill set, and head coach Pat Shurmur has made it known that a versatile running back would be a vital asset to his offense.

But most importantly is the fact that Gettleman has said a pick as high as No. 2 must warrant a Hall of Famer in the future. Breer sees Barkley being that guy.

Former NFL exec and current ESPN analyst Louis Riddick would be taking Penn State RB Saquon Barkley at No. 2 if he was in Dave Gettleman's shoes.

Riddick, who interviewed for the Giants' GM vacancy last year, says Barkley is "a special kid" that he wouldn't pass on.

"I think Saquon Barkley is just a special kid," he told NJ.com's Ryan Dunleavy. "I think he will help Eli because he will give him someone who he can turn around and hand the ball to 25-28 times a game."

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant continues to hint that he wants to stay in the NFC East, and the Giants may very well be the team he wants to sign with.

"Playing with him, Sterling (Shepard) ... the tight end (Evan Engram), (QB Eli) Manning? Crazy. They draft (Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick)? That'd be crazy!''

Bryant also discussed the potential of joining the Texans and Rams, though Fisher views the Giants as Bryant's top choice.

The Giants are less than two weeks away from choosing their first-rounder with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft. And though many believe drafting Eli Manning's successor is in order for Big Blue, GM Dave Gettleman's "win now" mindset may not warrant a gunslinger in the end.

New York has been setting up private workouts with the top quarterback prospects in Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, and Baker Mayfield, with Darnold visiting the team on Monday followed by Allen Tuesday. But all the quarterback visits may be smoke and mirrors if the Giants have their heart set on another position instead.

"You got to do your due diligence when you're there at second," a source told The Post's Paul Schwartz," if you don't do to these workouts at No. 2 and you really don't have an interest in these guys, then you're tipping your hand."

Penn State RB Saquon Barkley was spotted wearing a Giants hoodie during a trip to the barber earlier this week, with TMZ snapping photos. Sources told TMZ that the hoodie was given to Barkley as a gift by the Giants when he recently met with the team.

The Giants, who have the No. 2 pick in the Draft later this month, have been linked to Barkley, but most believe they will draft a quarterback from the group of USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, and Wyoming's Josh Allen.

However, GM Dave Gettleman and head coach Pat Shurmur heaped praise on Barkley earlier this month.

Still, there are a lot of variables, especially in the first two picks. But at the moment there aren't many changes to my latest Mini-Mock Draft. The Browns are still taking a quarterback at 1. The Jets are still definitely taking one at 3. And I still think the Giants will take one -- assuming the right one is available -- at 2.

Bryant, 29, had a down year in 2017, with 69 receptions for 838 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games.

"I let a lot of things get in the way that bother me mentally," Bryant said late last season. "I feel like, if anything, I need to deal with in the offseason - is that. Like I said, there's only certain things I can control."

Since then, the saga has taken dozens of turns -- some absurd, and some entirely predictable.

And the reports on whether he'll be traded or not just won't stop.

But Beckham is still on the Giants and still with no long-term contract. The only thing that's changed is that he showed up for the first day of the offseason program on Monday, which the Giants seemed to take as a very positive sign. And that's all the Giants wanted all along -- a sign that he was willing to be committed to their program...

In his latest Mock Draft, ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr. has the Giants selecting USC QB Sam Darnold with the No. 2 pick -- as SNY's Ralph Vacchiano projected in his Mini Mock 3.0.

Kiper opines:

I still think the Giants should grab a quarterback with their pick (unless they get blown away by a trade offer). Eli Manning is 37 and on the down side of his career, and New York has a talented roster that shouldn't be picking this high in the future. Is GM Dave Gettleman really going to pass on a signal-caller who could be Manning's ready-made replacement?

Top QB prospect Josh Rosen 00:01:13
Former UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen is expected to be taken as one of the top QB's in the 2018 NFL Draft.

With the NFL Draft a little over two weeks away, the Giants continue to get their last live look at the top prospects they could select with their second overall pick.

With Sunday and Monday's private workouts featuring Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield and Penn State RB Saquon Barkley, UCLA QB Josh Rosen is the next top prospect to visit the Giants. He is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, per SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.

After Rosen's visit, USC QB Sam Darnold is expected to be next on the list at some point later this week. Wyoming QB Josh Allen and Notre Dame G Quenton Nelson are also expected to visit the Giants. N.C. State DE Bradley Chubb visited the Giants last week.

Giants star WR Odell Beckham Jr. has taken a shot back at future Hall of Fame LB Ray Lewis. Or at least that is what it looks like.

Lewis went on The Herd with Colin Cowherd Monday, and had some strong words to say about the 25-year-old receiver who he says has "removed God from his life."

"In everything that he is doing, he is crying out for help," Lewis said. "We have a lot of people reporting about it. But it's always been the duty of elders to go back to help. That's why I raised my hand and told him, 'I'm here whenever you need me.'"

At the end of last season, Eli Apple was in the epicenter of the Giants' locker room dysfunction. It got so bad that his teammate, Landon Collins, called him "a cancer" during a radio appearance in late December.

That's a hard word to walk back, and a feud that didn't seem easy to fix. But, on the first day of the new Giants' offseason workout program on Monday, Collins insisted that's exactly what they did. Everything between the two of them, he insisted, is fine despite everything that happened last season...

Eli Manning heard some of the speculation that Odell Beckham Jr. was on the verge of being traded, but he said he never really took it seriously. He always envisioned himself throwing passes to Beckham this upcoming season.

And perhaps next season. And maybe even another year or two after that.

Ereck Flowers was a no-show to the Giants' voluntary offseason workout on Monday, a source confirmed to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.

Flowers, who will be shifting from left tackle to right tackle this season, struggled badly last season -- after which the Giants signed former Patriots left tackle Nate Solder to a four-year deal worth $62 million.

The 23-year-old Flowers, who the Giants selected 9th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, has a cap hit of $4.579 million this season.

DNL: Beckham reports to Giants 00:04:37
The Daily News Live panel discusses the significance of Odell Beckham showing up at the Giants' facility after a tumultuous offseason.

Ralph Vacchiano | Facebook | Twitter | ArchiveOdell Beckham, Jr. was back in the building for the start of the Giants' offseason program on Monday morning, just as new coach Pat Shurmur said he always expected. For any other player, that would simply be treated as business as usual.

For Beckham, though, business is rarely "usual" and his return to East Rutherford, N.J., comes amid a wild swirl of speculation about his future with the team. So what does his presence mean? Will he be on the Giants in 2018? Will he eventually get a new, lucrative, long-term contract?

There'll be a time to figure all of that out, of course. For now, Shurmur is just focusing on what he considers the most important news of the day: Beckham, as promised, showed up...

The ball was firmly placed in Odell Beckham's court two weeks ago when the Giants fanned the flames of the rumors that their star might be traded. They meant it mostly as a warning shot, and what they wanted was a sign that he was committed to being the player and person they wanted him to be.

It has been nearly two weeks since John Mara fired the starting pistol on the Odell Beckham Jr. frenzy when he refused to commit to him being on the 2018 roster. Since then, the saga has taken dozens of turns - some absurd, and some entirely predictable.

But Beckham is still on the Giants and still with no long-term contract. So with the start of the voluntary offseason program looming on Monday, here's a look at where things currently stand, based on interviews with Giants owners Mara and Steve Tisch, GM Dave Gettleman, coach Pat Shurmur, and multiple team and league sources familiar with this story.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - At the end of his troubled season last year, Eli Apple's future with the Giants looked very bleak. His teammates didn't like him. One called him "a cancer." The organization grew tired of his complaining and lack of effort. He was suspended for the final game.

If there was anyone who desperately needed the "clean slate" the new Giants regime was offering, it was clearly this 22-year-old former first-round pick. Whether he actually takes advantage of it remains to be seen.

But the Giants' new coaching staff sure seems to hope that he does.

Odell Beckham apparently skipped Eli Manning's annual minicamp at Duke University again this week, as he presumably continued to rehab his ankle back in Los Angeles.

But Brandon Marshall was in Durham, N.C. for the workouts, leading to some speculation that he still might have a future with the Giants after all...
