The Giants won't have worry about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' first-round pick in linebacker Devin White this week.
The Bucs ruled White out for their Week 3 meeting with the Giants due to a knee injury. In addition, linebacker Devante Bond (hamstring), cornerback Jamel Dean (ankle) and quarterback Blaine Gabbert (shoulder) are all also out for the Bucs this week.
White was the fifth-overall pick, one spot before the Giants selected Daniel Jones, at the 2019 NFL draft. Jones is of course making his NFL debut against the Bucs on Sunday.
In regard to the Giants, things are looking a bit more optimistic prior to Week 3. Wideout Sterling Shepard cleared the concussion protocol this week and was listed as a full participant on Thursday and Friday at practice. He's expected to play.
Also making their NFL debut is Giants rookie receiver Darius Slayton, who's been battling a hamstring injury. Slayton will give Jones and the Giants offense a speedy weapon to use as Jones navigates his first professional throws.
However, two Giants receivers aren't listed in a good light. Bennie Fowler is currently questionable (hamstring) while Cody Latimer won't play (concussion).
The Giants are expected to also have cornerback Grant Haley (illness), offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler (shoulder) and tight end Garrett Dickerson (quad).
